There are two main types of tree felling;
Sectional felling is required when a tree cannot be felled due to limited space in the surrounding area. It is used to bring the tree down in sections carefully, so to avoid any obstacles such as buildings, roads or cables. There are different many techniques used in sectional felling. This is where experience and knowledge is key.
Clear felling means trees can be felled from the ground without climbing it. This work is generally carried out in an open area. Clear felling is usually associated with site clearance tasks.
